Missing Cat, AKA Diesel Come Home

IMG_6119
One of my two cats pulled a quick get away sneaking out the back door as I came home Friday night. Diesel is the one in the foreground. She weighs about 7 pounds, and is thought to be about a year old (she was an alley cat). As you can see, she's a calico with mostly black and orange markings, but white on her chest and tummy. Because she's an indoor cat, she does not wear a collar (I once came home to a previous cat with his leg stuck in his collar, so I don't generally use them). She's fairly vocal, and makes a beeping sound when she jumps. She has all of her claws, and is current on her shots.

I wasn't that concerned when she first got out because she has done it a few times before, but always comes home the next day. If you see her please call 202-631-8254, or email inked78[at] hotmail.com. I live in the 1200 block of Florida (north side), but no one has seen her. If you see her, please let me know. Her sister Fisher misses her, as do I.

She ran up the back steps and into the house this morning when I was taking out the recycling. She seems fine, just very hungry.

Sorry about your cat. I hope you find it soon. I enjoyed meeting you and having lunch at the Korean place, in the market, with you and Richard Saturday.

Are you familiar with the Fishing School. It is in NorthEast, but further up. This is a very well done documentary about a local hero: Tom Lewis.

If you can, please publicize this:

Redemption Stone - The Life and Times of Tom Lewis

Redemption Stone introduces Tom Lewis, a storyteller of quiet power, who recounts the social upheaval and rebirth that shape his unique American journey. A spiritual vision inspires Tom to open an after-school safe haven called The Fishing School and to turn hardship into hope for the children in his community.

looks like your cat was found and taken to the NY Ave Shelter based on a message in the trinidad email listserv.
Hope it's ok.

Yay! so scary when they sneak out like that. If you haven't you might look into getting them microchipped--the shelters are supposed to check that if they end up in the system.
