What's Open Today During the Day
I don't have a full list, but I can confirm that the Argonaut (1433 H Street), Sova (1359 H Street), and the Star and Shamrock (1341 H Street) are open.
Went by Argonaut last night for drinks with a friend. Only 2-3 people the whole time, and the bartender (~30, white guy w/ glasses & tattoos) was really inattentive. He spent most of his time singing with his friend poorly at the top of his lungs to poor quality showtunes & Irish songs from Youtube on his laptop.
Worse yet, a waiter (black guy w/ braids) was talking with the bartender about how placing a drop of Visine in a person's drink can "give them the runs."
A lack of basic customer service & hearing the staff talk of how to taint food leads me to never come back here again.
I agree completely. The Argonaut is representative of a service orientation that is peculiar to D.C. in my experience. Bartenders and waitstaff in this town seem to think they have some incredibly special skill set, when in fact they are the chaff of the world, ill-suited to any substantive effort or meaningful human accomplishment. That's why you're better of picking up a sixer and pack of tacks at the local shop and going to town on your scroat.
I want to appoligise for the lact of judment and piss poor behavior of some of my staff members! I was just made aware of the issue that happened last night, and am in the process of making the changes needed. Please feel free to email me directly at scott@argonautdc.com if you have an argonaut related issue. Again Im sorry those actions are very childish and do not represent argo as a whole.
