A look at what's going on in Trinidad, on H Street, and in the larger area north of Capitol Hill.

X9 Express Bus?
Take a look at the website for the proposed X9 express bus. In our neck of the woods the stops would include H and North Capitol, 8th and H, and 15th and Benning. What do people think about this?

Assuming it would follow the path of the X2 towards downtown, that would be wonderful. From my many years of X2 riding I know that lots of people who board at 8&H or earlier stay aboard until Gallery Place or beyond.
This makes good sense. The X9 express could serve the same function as the little free shuttle and maybe more people would use it than the regular X2, which can be slow and overcrowded. Good that they're adding more East-bound evening runs to the X2--there is certainly demand.
I don't know if it really harms people to discontinue the X3 since I don't use it. Might hurt some.
Sounds great but they should also pick up at the western end of the H Street strip on this side of the bridge as well on 3rd and H NE so that those at the bottom of the strip don't get stranded between 8 streets on one side and a long walk over the hill to North Capitol... If not there would be a mile between stops...

It looks like a great schedule to me. I understand the argument for stopping at 3rd & H, but I really think an express bus should have as few stops as possible. I usually board at 8th & H and, like LibariNerd, I've found that a lot of people board there and exit either at 7 & H NW or 6 & H NW. And it looks like the next stop after North Capitol would be 7th & H.

Great idea...wish this bus had existed since last year.
If you live near 3rd and H, why don't you just go to Union Station?
And make the bus smartrip only or smartrip and whatever those passes are that people show that let them on the bus. no cash
