Found: Pet Bird Near Capital City Diner

When: 8:45 am this morning
Where: Sunbathing on the hood of a locked taxicab parked at the curb, around the corner from the Capital City Diner.
What: Your pet bird

Thanks to the folks at the diner for providing the empty produce box that made the rescue possible. Currently safe and sound in a cage in my kitchen, I would like to return this beauty to its rightful owner. Please provide the particulars such as color, markings, and the story of how it got there to convince me it's yours, so we can arrange for its return.

From the comments:

We reunited the bird and its owner on Saturday night. The cockatiel, "Shorty," flew the coop Thursday evening from a home in Adams Morgan with a partner cockatiel (all white), still at large. Happy owner was reunited by happenstance, she sold me cockatiel food at Chateaux Animaux a few hours after we found the bird Friday morning; she heard the reason why and emailed to me the photo of her missing winged friends. Congratulations to Shorty! One missing bird found, one to go.

not to hijack this, but what's the deal with all the construction guys, and excavation equipment digging up the fenced in park next to the starburst intersection? are they finally starting on the park?

Le poo,
that's not a park. That's Arboretum Place (400 something luxury apartments).
