I always find it interesting when folks try to make the argument that GGW is out of the mainstream. "Car Sharing is the most ludicrous idea evah!" Oops, there it is. "Bike-sharing?!? Ridiculous!" Bing! Here they are.
"Streetcars! Well, I never!" Sigh.
If the world around you keeps astonishing you with its ridiculousness, you may want to think about whether it's the world that's out-of-touch.

i actually laughed out loud at the image of a bike lane on the beltway
even though that might be kinda cool (too bad no one will ever pay for it)
