Change of Plans For Home Slice?

IMG_1048.JPG
The buildings in question circa 2006

I have an unconfirmed report that a new contractor and architect are once again gutting the space formerly known as the Sun and Moon convenience, and located on the south west corner of 14th and H Street. The most recent plans called for a pizza place by the name of Home Slice (but several different names have been offered as past possibilities). Once again, this is completely unconfirmed. Here are a few photos of the gutting/renovation last July.

I remember looking in there a couple months ago and it looked like it was progressing. It seemed beyond a gutting phase and looked like it was taking shape. But I only looked through a small opening so take it for what it is worth

Hey Tubbs, why don't you do us all a favor on this board and take a long walk off a short pier. And while your walking take another look at Ink's posts about jerk trollers.

I would like to say that I hate the usual moronic Tubbs post as much as the next guy. However, I am a huge fan of the posts where Tubbs whines pathetically that his/her posts keep getting deleted, and that his/her posts are actually really funny and that "everyone" thinks they are hilarious. So Tubbs, can you just cut out the "middle-man" troll posts and get right to the pathetic whining?

Inked should have linked to the WaPo review of the Atlas Room from last week:

not cool, dude. If you're going to use the name, at least make sure you can play the game. If you service your wife the way you comment on blogs, you probably have a good idea why she was cool moving this far into NE D.C.

Hint: It wasn't for the chicken wings.

everyone hates the dude enough to pretend the dude. Just wish I was cool enough to ride an RV of truth and justice and roll that bitch through the wilderness of contemporary politics; then I could hope to be a soldier on the front lines of the struggle for the heart and soul of America. Oh, wait, nevermind. That would just make me a dick.

To Everybody,

I opened the comments on this post in the hopes of getting some insider gossip on new restaurants and happenings in the 'hood. Instead I got hijacked banter for the troll.

Please realize, by engaging him you are redirecting the conversation away from what has made this blog so great, the information we get and trade about our neighborhood. If that stops, people stop coming here and Inked's hard work and caring go down the drain. I know it's hard, but do what you can to support her and the blog we all rely on. No, she's not saving the world or even cancer ridden kittens, but the blog definitely has a place and value. Keep the focus positive and directed, not hijacked into the gutter.

Plus, I would really miss TonyT's comments if he stopped coming around.

Notwithstanding psychopathic babble above, thanks for the crossposting Rayful Edmond. It sounds like they will be starting the apt complex project in the summer or fall, which is very good news.

Hey, I was wondering: why are they firing their architect, &tc? Sounds like a pretty expensive bout of thrashing around. I wish they'd go ahead and open already, though. This area needs a decent "boutique" pizza delivery option.

Go Blue:

Yes, that apt building is indeed good news. They are promising really inventive architecture. That would be terrific, as it would help it stand out from all the cookie cutter apt developments of recent years.

If they can manage to get rid of the squaters, the domestic violence, and the god-knows-what going on inside that place, I don't care if they open a craft store - please just don't leave it a crappy empty building! Again I ask, is a Gold's Gym too much to hope for in our little corner of the world???
