WTOP: The Search For Justice
This is part three of WTOP's series covering the 2008 shooting of 13 year old Alonzo Robinson and police investigation that followed. The story is back in the news because Alonzo's alleged killers have finally come to trial. Recently a key witness for the prosecution was ruled competent to testify. Defense attorneys had questioned his competency due to his "extensive psychiatric issues and extensive hallucinogenic drug use." He is expected to testify that he was with the five men now on trial on the night of the shooting, and rode along during the shootings. He pled guilty to second degree murder and other charges in exchange for his testimony.
