Crowd Sourcing Comes to H Street

The team behind Westmill Capital, which acquired the Autozone lot (as well as 1351 H Street), is launching a new site aimed at figuring out what the community would like to see in their H Street spaces. The site is currently still in beta, but the launch party is the Friday at 8pm, so expect all to be revealed soon enough.

What a HUGE statement it would be to build with what looks like the buildings destroyed in the 1968 riots.

These guys are so smart. It's like they read an article in a business magazine once

I can't wait to give positive input on their plan to move Autozone to 13th and Maryland. It's genius

Guys, just tear that place down then lets talk. It has been a source of illegal oil dumping and car repairs for a long time..Just get it gone.
How about a garden store??? We could use one

nay on the garden store idea, unless it's part of an overall hardware store (sorry, park hardware, you provide the bare minimum of product selection and the "wait at the front while the clerk gets what you need from the aisles" setup is annoying.

I'd love to see a real hardware store on H Street; one complete with a large garden section. I have to agree with Wylie, Park Hardware just doesn't cut it. Something like Frager's would be great.

I'd like to see a gun store. The district doesn't have a single one. That site is probably too large for just that though. Still it'd be great if someone opened one up somewhere on H st.

how about an auto parts store?? my tag light is out and i'm looking forward to only having to go four blocks to get a bulb. while i'm in there i may check out some new floor mats too... i could just drive across the bridge to virginia and leave my tax dollars there...

I agree with tiffanyc. Nice to have a parts store close by. Amazon is not a replacement for when you need a battery right now. Are you going to pay 20 dollars for shipping and wait a week or cab to Virginia when your car won't start? Nice to be able to walk two blocks. I hope if it is moved it is still close by.

2:34,
There's an auto parts store 2 blocks away on Florida.

Is Autozone still open? Isn't it a parts store?

how about turning the parking lot into a park?
or a gigantic beer garden.

I'd like to see the store that was there before the riots (Chuck Levin's) move back.

I would really really really like to see that.

It almost certainly won't happen, but I'd really like it.
