Missing Kittens Firefox & Chrome
From a reader:
My 2 "porch" kittens are missing today. I am worried they wandered off, got lost or stuck somewhere, or worse. I haven't seen them since the night before last night. They are like alley cats, but live under my porch at 1225 Morse St NE. They are skittish around people, but probably hungry and may approach you. Kittens are 4 months old, one solid grey (Chrome), the other dark orange tabby (Firefox). They are also both ear-tipped, with the top of their left ear trimmed off (universal mark of a neutered alley cat). If you have seen them since Wednesday morning or know where they are, please let me know. Email (istandakimbo[at]gmail.com), call or text, 202 706 3412.

I'm sorry I haven't seen them. I hope they turn up. I just wanted to comment on what great names you gave them.
I think they went for a Safari overseas.
they may have installed themselves somewhere.
Or perhaps went Internet exploring
Maybe they took a trip to the Kennedy Center to take in some Opera?
Your cat looks like a Lynx.

Oh, goodness, how adorable! I hope they are found.
Chrome was fine on July 4th around 7pm on 1500 block of Queen Street. Very friendly, let me pet and hold, we asked neighbors, no one knew who the kitty belonged too. When I left Chrome was playing in the yard, upon return was gone.
Fireworks can cause confusion and panic in an animal - they may have run off and hidden owing to the usual July 4th festivities and are waiting to come out when they are convinced things have calmed down. However, if they are strays, thers's a chance they were picked up by Animal control. Hopefully they are safe and OK...cute kittens...
I think i saw firefox about 10 days ago near the porch of someones house on the south side of Florida Ave where it bends toward H Street. 1300 or 1400 block area.
I don't know if it's the same cat but a tabby kitten was meowing and when I approached him he ducked away.
Thanks Anon 9:55. I went to look for him and a young resident said there are kittens that come out at night, so I'll be back there after dark.
Anon 2:12, I'm afraid the fireworks may have driven them far from home and they don't know how to get back. They are ear-tipped so won't be picked up by Animal Control (and if they are, I'll get a call about them).
Anon 3:48, oh no! I hope that wasn't him. He usually stays close to home and only went missing on the morning of July 4th. These kittens were originally found on Florida Ave near the Frozen Tropics HQ and relocated to Morse St for safety.
Earlier Anons: I am also afraid these kittens have the virus that will make the internet stop working come Monday! I need to find them before they crash.
Thanks everyone for your help!
