Eater DC has posted some preliminary drawings for
Maketto, the new venture coming to 1351 H Street. Maketto is an innovative blend of food and fashion. It's a joint project between Erik Bruner-Yang of
Toki Underground, and Will Sharp of
DURKL. Bruner-Yang knows Asian street food, and Sharp knows men's street fashion. It should be an interesting mashup.

What a brilliant idea! This is going to totally change the dynamics of our current H street!! Sheer brilliance, and intellectual muscle will make this place happen!
Yey, poo.
The whole idea reads like a hipster parody, right down to the website talking about sneakers, culinary itineraries, and curated brands.
Of course if the food is good.... :)
there's a place like this in the jardins neighborhood of sao paulo, brazil. i actually went shopping there, took my time, had a drink in hand, and then had a bite to eat before i left. it was a quaint experience. if they do it right, it could work. granted, the place in s.p. was pretty large...
That's an amazingly detailed rendering. If you enlarge it, you can make out a guy in back of the store complaining about getting it broke off in his ass and not even getting a courtesy reach around for his troubles.
can you please explain that last comment
OMG ! Tubbs! I totally see it! What an eye you have! You should work on the set of CSI! You're brilliant! You got a full ride during college, didn't you? And I'm not talking about tuition...
Indeed. Now you know what your dad did with your tuition money, champ.
Tubbs is a blog troll. This person never actually contributes to the often positive and informative discussion between neighbors about the activity in our community. Try being an adult Tubbs. Take your high school humor elsewhere.
au contraire, mon frottager; I have, on numerous occasions, educated you NIMBY, Whole Foods worshipping trogs on the practical realities of zoning law and the impotence of your beloved ANC. But, yeah, I generally come for the outrage and stay for the lulz.
Have fun shopping at Giant while seething and dreaming of what could have been. Oh yeah, don't forget to whine about voting rights too!
Tubbs--You've just proved my previous point. Your lack of knowledge of and your broad sweeping generalizations about your neighbors is astounding and sad. Not everyone on the blog or living in the community is cut from the same cloth. Try getting some education. Be gone troll!
christ, I can smell the patchouli from here.
"For example eating in the retail store won't feel like you are eating in a retail store."
Oh my. I wonder what it will feel like?
