Sova Reopening Update
I just heard from the owner that Sova Espresso and Wine (1359 H Street) will have its bar open normal hours tonight, and will resume coffee service tomorrow.
I like the vibe at SOVA, but it would be great if they would reach up and DUST the fans above the service counter and clean all vents, windowsills, and the bathrooms. Please. Also, spending 2 hours installing a nice straight counter to hold the coffee machines would be a good touch. I get the eclectic vibe and maybe that goes with it, but I appreciate cleanliness in a food establishment. I am not a hater, I bring all my friends here, I patronize the shop, and I recommend it to guests. Bu the FANS, really, please.
Duly noted on the fans. However, the back counter issue is hardly a 2 hour job, unfortunately. I wish that were the case. It was custom made, so it's not like going to Ikea and buying a new one.
Thank you for your support. I do appreciate the criticism.
Thx for the heads up on Sova. Will stop by for coffee soon as I like having a coffee shop at this end of H. Could care less about the counter as long as the flow of people buying things is fast when there are long lines and easy to sit down or go out the door after buying.
My issue with Sova is that they are consistently understaffed in the mornings so the wait time is too long and they do not know how to do inventory. They are always out of something that they shouldn't be such as lid tops, napkins, stirrers, etc. Knowing what one is running low on and ordering more to prevent running out is basic business 101. I know walk out of my way for better service.

Why did they close?
Mr. Nonny,
It was a tax/paperwork issue. It's now resolved.

SOVA
a kick dog will bark...lol
If it was custom made....you should get your money back.
What's wrong with the counter and why does it matter if it is straight or not?
Maybe an angled counter makes better coffee. I love Sova and I'm going to go down there soon to show my support for the counter!
