Early this morning Fever sent out the tweet below indicating that it will be closed indefinitely. Fever occupies the former HR-57 space at 816 H Street.

I really hope they change their business model. A frosty glass front bar is not what I want to live next to. A cafe or a bar with open windows would be nice. I prefer the cafe. The west end has two coffee shops now, the east is getting its own, but we don't have anything here and who wants to walk to either end.

I agree, windows do not belong in bars darker the better. It was way to open in there too, not enough couches and stuff.

Yeah we do. 7-11 has great coffee. And yeah that's one hell of a walk down to btwn 4th and 5th.

Good riddance ... honestly, never went there so can say that wih full authority, but I just disliked the idea of a "club" on H Street. The douchey and gimmicky Country Club is bad enough.

sorry, meant to type "CAN'T say that with full authority ..."

You are right adl!! For so long I have been looking for a place to take my laptop and go work and have coffee and I have failed to see the great 7-11 across the street.

I was wondering why they were closed when we tried to go on Friday night.

Had a blast instead listening to a great go-go band at Twelve. And finished off the night with some partying at RNR Hotel

H Street LL,
I'm sad to hear of the closure. I hadn't been in, but I had chatted a bit with the door guy, and read the nice review from the WP. Sounded like a cool spot.

9:16 AM - Your entry belongs on the "First World Problems" blog: http://first-world-problems.com/

Seriously - is it so difficult to walk 4 blocks to have somebody make you a coffee? Sorry you've had to live near frosted windows for a few months.

Really sad to hear this as I was a frequent patron and got a chance to connect with Daryl the owner quite a bit. It was definitely a pretty cool spot.

Don't really understand the posts from poo poo and anonynmous. You both said that you'd never really been so I'm interested in knowing why you'd wish ill will towards another business owner. It wasn't a "club" it was a lounge.

What's the story with Fever in general- Is it DJs spinning records most/all nights? DJs any good? beers on tap? drink specials? Comfy chairs? Food? I didn't realize that frosted glass was such a flashpoint.

and when does XII have live go-go? They don't list it under events on their site.

Welp, just walked by and a carbo-bev or something similar company was removing what I assume to be the soda lines/equipment (never worked in a restaurant before so I am not certain). I guess we'll see what happens.

MJ - They did last Friday night at least. Although at the door/bar they were saying it was a "r&b band" but it was definitely go-go.

It was 1of the few spots on H street that the music was old school hip & r&b. Mature crowd. Did not feel like a college party as many places on H Street do..

Saw legendary hip-hop DJ, Cash Money, from Philadelphia, there. Unfortunately, the turnout was sparse, but the people there had a great time. No pretension, easygoing place.
