Photo by Ciaran Bagnall of an actor in the play Swampoodle
The Capitol Hill Restoration Society is conducting a free tour of the area once known as Swampoodle. It is open to the public, and it sounds like a great way to start a Saturday morning. Details after the jump.
Dear CHRS Members
Please come on a walking tour of Northeast Capitol Hill’s part of “Swampoodle,” in the neighborhood between 2nd and 4th Streets between F and H Streets.
Learn why this section was called Swampoodle and about the fascinating history, people, and architecture of this little known part of Washington forever changed by the construction of Union Station.
Date & time: Saturday, June 29, 2013 at 10:00 a.m.
Meet at: Ebenezer’s – corner of Second & F Streets, NE
Free, open to the public. Rain or shine.

Great event. Huge crowd- at least 60 people at one point.
went in there on Sat and it felt 10 degrees hotter than in the blazing sun outside, it would be great if they start having shows and events here again but its supposed to be boring old offices
