Meeting Regarding Surplus Status of R. L. Christian Library Site

IMG_3782 A major development is coming to the R. L. Christian Library site, but the following meeting needs to happen first.

Notice:

From: Reyna Alorro, Project Manager

Date: September 23, 2013

As you all may be aware, the District of Columbia has selected a developer to redevelop the former R.L. Christian Library site, located at 1300 H Street, NE, into a mixed-use development. As part of the redevelopment process, the property must be declared surplus by the D.C. Council. Declaring a property surplus means that it is not required for a public purpose.

The District will conduct a public meeting to receive comments on the proposed designation of 1300 H Street, NE, as surplus property. The surplus meeting is held in order to receive feedback from the community on the District’s finding that the property is not required for public purposes. Comments collected at the public meeting will be submitted to the D.C. Council for their review. The surplus meeting is conducted pursuant to D.C. Official Code §10-801. Below, please find the date, time and location of the meeting:

Date: Thursday, October 24, 2013
Time: 6:30 pm
Location: Sherwood Recreation Center
Multipurpose Room (2nd Floor)
640 10th Street NE
Washington DC

Please feel free to contact me at (202) 340-2957 should you have any questions or comments.
