1336 H Street is the unpainted (in this photo) building next to Smokey's
Here's the ABRA notice for a new sports bar headed to the H Street Corridor. Before anyone asks, let me address the name. As we discussed on Twitter Friday, the "sin bin" is a nickname for the penalty box in hockey. Moving on, this place is big. 200 seats, & space for 400 patrons. Ever since plans the Olympic went south, people have been asking about a sports bar. Over the years, the Argonaut, Khan's, the Queen Vic, the Pug, & Biergarten Haus have all catered to a sports watching crowd, but none is exactly a sports bar.

Sporrts, booz, and great food is always a big draw. I hope they do well.
Can't believe you didn't mention the Star & the Shamrock. Definitely at least as much a sports bar as any you listed.
Star & the Shamrock is almost the worst place to watch sports. The TVs are awkwardly facing away from the bar. Watching any game at the Pug is damned near impossible given the size of the place.
Sin Bin is a welcomed addition to H.
I can't wait for this place to open. Finally, a real sports bar on H!
Can't wait for the invasion of the bros and bowheads. They will be so cute on St Pat day too!!!
This place will be douchebag central on game day.
Real fans don't go to sports bars
While I appreciate the east end, I'm glad I live on the west end
rosedale rocks! cool nabe within walking distance of all the h street joints, without the sniping neighbors. booyah!
cannot wait for the next brosef happy hour here! bring it brahhh!
I am actually happy there will be a true sports bar in the mix. I think that fills the last void we need filled in terms of bars. Lets get some food variety and true retail on this side of the strip!
"I think that fills the last void we need filled... " We need a gay bar.
The Queen Vic is a gay bar
there are plenty of tvs on h st now. let's see how the food is.
It's going to be another sports bar with no personality, drawing different crowds on different nights. A dance floor that charges a cover?...doesn't sound like a place where I want to watch a hockey game. A summer patio at a place called the Sin Bin? How lovely.
I hope it turns out much better than it sounds. Until then, I'll stick with Rocket Bar downtown.
Good luck with Rocket Bar! BUST!! Come on over and take the street car to H Street Sin Bin, stops right out front!
We can't wait to serve you in November! Lots of plans to keep all DC Sports Fans Happy, and English Soccer on at 8 am every Saturday AM! with a tasty brunch!!
