Weekend East City Event Round Up: Summer Openings

Friday, June 6
Touchstone Gallery with the support of the Cultural Service of the Embassy of France presents Les Chemins de Memoire (The Paths of Memory) by Charles Goldstein. This exhibit has its roots in the holocaust and the disappearance of 84 close members of his family. For a full description of this must go to event, click here.

Touchstone Gallery - 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
At the same time as Charles Goldstein’s opening visit Avian Attitudes. At this opening, guests will be able to see some of the bird models in real life. For details on the artist and the exhibit, click here.

Saturday, June 7
Join CHAW for a day of art, dance, music, and more at the “CHAW Art and Performance Festival.” This is a great event for friends and family to spend the afternoon together. To read more about this event, click here.

Harmony Hall – 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.
If you like cars, car magazines, car culture, or family history then Tom Kenyon’s Dreams of Speed 3 is for you. His work tells viewers of the imaginary racing exploits of the real Kenyon Motor Company. For details on the artist and the exhibit, click here.
Harmony Hall Regional Center is located at 10701 Livingston Road, Fort Washington, MD.

The Brentwood Arts Exchange - 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
After stopping by Dreams of Speed 3, make sure to check out round two of the Brentwood Arts Exchange’s Project America's Next Top Master Artist. Meet the advancing artists and get a chance to walk one-on-one with them. To read more about this event, click here.

The Fridge - 7 p.m. to 11 p.m.
The Fridge presents Urban Decay, the fifth installment of the long-running exhibition created in 2010 by Deb Yarrington. Don’t miss this exhibit. It’s first time it will be held in DC. To read more about this must see event, click here.

Sunday, June 8
If you find yourself in need of some new artwork, make sure to stop by for a studio-clearing event featuring original artworks by Geoff Ault, Sheppard Bear, and Ellen Cornett. Details here.
