I pay city taxes for these services to be provided by the city. Not to do the lawn care work myself for the neighbors on G St. to enjoy.
to 2:10:00. Well, if folks actually paid enough in taxes to support ity services, instead of fighting to pay enough to support the city, these events wouldn't be necessary... now ..would thgy?
The problem isn't the people paying taxes. It's the deadbeats who don't pay and then end up destroying the neighborhood on top. If you don't pay taxes you should be forced to clean up these parks as a means of contributing instead of just taking
Anon 2:10 is a troll. He/she makes pretty much the same illogical reply whenever there's a post about folks getting together to try to improve the environment in which they live. Don't feed the troll.
The DC government is wasteful. Employees are overpaid and can't be fired. I think the herd needs to be culled and then there would be plenty of money for these types of projects.
Hi Annoyingmous, this is 2:10:00 PM, My name is Chuck Murphy and the last time I posted on here was when I was trying to open a shoe store on the 1400 block of H street, which did not happen (mostly I think to the craze in DC to support restaurants over all other retail.) That was well over a year ago.

there is nothing wrong with taking a little ownership of your neighborhood.
I pay taxes too but i also stop and pick up trash on the street and put it in trash cans.
If everyone would give a bit of their time and skills as well as money, this would be a great city.
i'd rather argue over who is going to make my flower bed look nice than deal with what the citizens of Baltimore are doing and going through
