Park's Hardware Building Sells for $2.25 Million

Michael Neibauer of the Washington Business Journal reports that 920 H Street, home to Park's Hardware, has sold for $2.25 million. According to Neibauer the new owner is 920 H LLC. Park's opened 33 years ago under owner Kitong Park. When H Street Main Street used to organize community clean-ups, Park's would often donate the gloves worn by cleaners. When I was a young (and careless) homeowner living in a fixer-upper Park's was my go-to for basic material. They could always be counted on to greet me warmly and ask how I'd been.

The property had been listed on and off over the years, with the owner sometimes telling me they were just testing the waters.

i'm sorry to see this close but we have a great hardware store on bladensburg and I imagine the Parks want to retire.

Pat,
I totally agree. I think they had a great run and finally got their magic number for the sales price. W. S. Jenks is a great store with staff that are knowledgeable and helpful.

Wasn't Mrs. Parks hit by a car at Maryland & F Street? If I remember correctly, she was pretty badly injured. I hope that they enjoy their retirement.

I'd say with 2.2 million on the building and the value of the hardware store inventory, they should have a decent
retirement.

They can move back to korea, or they can retire somewhere warm.

I wish them the best and they were a wonderful store, I shopped there a lot the first year i was fixing up the house.

Whoa! I just embigified the picture. Does he not have a right arm? Is he a one-armed human? If so, good for him! That means his struggle was even harder than I had originally suspected!

Poo,
I think he just had his arms crossed behind him.
