Halloween will be upon us before we know it. The big day falling on a Monday likely ensures it will be all about handing out candy and maybe pulling up an old movie on Netflix. But you can still celebrate the weekend before, and the annual Halloween bash at Jimmy Valentine's (1103 Bladensburg Road) is a very good option. Tickets are required, and you also must wear a costume (I've actually seen them turn people away for lack of costume). The basic ticket is $15 (+ $2 handling fee), or $70 (+ $2) for the open bar option. Patrons must be 21 years or older. Saturday, Oct. 29, from 9 p.m. to close.
The Air Sex Championships are back at the Rock & Roll Hotel (1353 H St.) tomorrow. The event is listed as being open to all ages. Tickets are $15. Doors open at 7 p.m., and the show starts at 8 p.m.
