Local News Brief: A Possible Hotel for H Street, & a Whiskey Release from One Eight Distilling
Michael Neibauer of the Washington Business Journal reports that we could see a hotel come to 609 H St. The property is owned by Jair Lynch Real Estate Partners, which recently sold the Anthology building (625 H St.). According to the article, the current idea calls for a hotel "[t]argeted at the younger, business-traveling demographic, the European-inspired AC Hotels are billed as stylish and urban, with curated lobbies and lounges."
One Eight Distilling (1135 Okie St.) will celebrate the release of their Untitled Whiskey No. 3 Batch 2 on Saturday with food from Hill Country, and coffee from Vigilante. One Eight describes the spirit as a six year old "wheated bourbon finished in Vigilante roasted coffee barrels." Try it out in their tasting room during the festivities from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Is there more info on the Whiskey Release anywhere? I checked their website but I'm having trouble finding anything specific.
After walking through Anthology it does look like it would fit the bill for a hotel for the single 25 - 40 crowd who are childless and beautiful.
They did a great job on that building and must have great neighbors.
Xavier,
Here's link to the flyer they tweeted.
