The Junior League of Washington has selected the H Street NE Corridor and Trinidad for their Sixth Annual Kitchen Tour. It's one of the group's signature events, and the proceeds from the Kitchen Tour go directly to their D.C. area community partners and grants programs.
Buy a ticket and you can join a walking tour of selected homes for tastings and demonstrations by local chefs and mixologists. The general admission tour includes six homes (four of which are in Trinidad), and the VIP tour includes an extra home. One of the organizers lives in Trinidad, and she assures me the VIP home is worth it. Sample food from local restaurants like Cava Grill and BlackFinn Ameripub and beverages from breweries and distilleries like Stella Artois and Lagunitas, as well as get new ideas for cocktails and appetizers. Many of the featured homes have been recently remodeled or have specific features unique to the particular home, and homeowners will be available to share information about their experiences with home renovations and decorations.
Follow a mobile app (available for Apple and Android devices) on your phone for the Kitchen Tour. The app will direct you along the route, as well as provide information on the homes on the tour, vendors, and special vendor discounts and offers. The tour will begin and end on H Street.
The tour festivities kick off a bit earlier with Toast of the Tour, this Wednesday, April 12, from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at Long View Gallery (1234 Ninth St. NW). Toast of the Tour is an evening cocktail reception with exclusive preview tastings from local D.C. chefs and mixologists participating on the Kitchen Tour.
Tickets for the Kitchen Tour are $35 for general admission and $55 for VIP tickets, which provide access to an additional, exclusive VIP home with special tastings. Tickets for Toast of the Tour are $45 for general admission and $65 for VIP tickets, which offer access to the VIP lounge with exclusive tastings. Start times for the Kitchen Tour are staggered to control the flow, and prevent bunching due to an anticipated total of 300 to 500 attendees.
Save by purchasing tickets to both events at the same time with the General Admission Ticket Bundle at $70 and the VIP Ticket Bundle at $110. Ticket Bundle holders will be able to participate in the Kitchen Tour at any time during the event versus a pre-selected start time when purchased separately.
The Kitchen Tour check in spot is the Pursuit (1421 H St.), and the tour ends on the rooftop of Ben's Upstairs (2nd floor of 1001 H St.).

Nah. You have got to be joking.
8:28,
It's a diverse neighborhood, and people have different interests. It's also for a good cause, and could be useful for anyone planning to renovate soon.
This does sound like a great event and is for a good cause; just concerned about parking since it is already outrageous in Trinidad due to the H Street club 7 restaurant activity and home owners mostly seniors in my block can't get parking near our homes. Genuine
