Still early for tomato season, but look for these at market soon
The FRESHFARM Market returns to its home at 13th & H Street tomorrow. They'll ring the opening bell at 9 a.m. All you favorite vendors will be back this year, and Zayt & Zaatar will join them. Zayt & Zaatar serves Mediterranean flat breads with a breakfast focus. Also keep a look out for a monthly pop up from Just Juice Smoothies and Mechelle's Baking Company.
The market will once again offer its FRESHFARM Share, a weekly subscription of local fruits and vegetables that can be picked up at the H Street NE Market. The shares are half price for anyone using SNAP/EBT.
A new pop up store is coming to the former Salvation Army space at 1371 H St. It's from Femme Fatale DC, and spots are available for local women owned businesses. The FFDC Pop-up Store Business Guide offers more details. Applications, and the initial deposit, are due April 10, so don't delay. Email ffdc.llc[at]gmail.com with questions.
The layout of the pop up
If the monthly rent is beyond your means, Femme Fatale DC notes that "businesses are welcome to propose collaborations with other local, womyn-owned businesses in their retail plot to split costs." The pop up will occupy 2,500 square feet, and a large glass window and door will replace the currently boarded up storefront.

A couple of the long time farmers were not there. Those guys were there from day one.
