I still haven't heard about future plans for the Argonaut's old home at 1433 H St., but the Argo's liquor license will likely remain in safekeeping a little longer. The Alcoholic Beverage Control Board recent approved a request to hold the license through Sept. 30 of this year.
If you haven't visited the ALDI (901 17th St.) recently, you could be in for a nice surprise when you next stop by. The store was just remodeled, and I'm told it's a big improvement. In contrast to the nearby Safeway, the lines move quickly at the ALDI, and I've yet to have a lack-luster experience when picking up a few staples.
This Sunday REI (201 M St. NE) will host a release party for Rally Cry IPA, a beer they brewed in collaboration with Atlas Brew Works (2052 West Virgina Ave.) and DC Brau (3178 B Bladensburg Road). Rally Cry IPA celebrates the Capital Trails Coalition, "a collaboration of public and private organizations, agencies, and citizen volunteers working to advance completion of an interconnected network of multi-use trails for metropolitan Washington, DC." The beer will be free (limit 2, while supplies last), and the event will also feature gold sprint bike races, food from CAVA, bike clinics, music, and giveaways. 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., no cover or registration required.

what is that a picture of
A construction site. I believe it's from the 1100 block of H Street.
Has anyone else seen the "D" Construction permit posted on the Argonaut? It says partial demolition for a pub/tavern, but I haven't seen anyone working there for a couple weeks now....
