Gelldrian,

I'm aware that most teens who go missing in the District do turn up. That's definitely good news, but they are still missing while they are missing. The point of the old article you link to is that people got confused and mistook a new MPD strategy for evidence of an increase in missing kids. I'm not confused on that front. I make an effort to update the posts when people are found. Personally, I'm glad to see MPD stepping up their efforts to spread information about missing persons through social media. MPD's previous failures to consistently and quickly share accurate information about missing people (even those in danger) have definitely been sources of frustration and concern. I consider this a welcome change.
