Local Briefing: New Principals for Area Schools & an Upgraded Website for an Ivy City Seafood Vendor
Now You Can Look Before You Shop at Ivy City Smokehouse Market
I noticed over the weekend that they've been working on the market portion of the Ivy City Smokehouse (1356 Okie Street NE) website, which is terrific because you can now see which fish (with prices listed) will be available in the market each day. If you are at all a seafood fan, and have somehow not yet been to the market, you should plan to pay them a visit soon. I regularly buy fresh fish there, and the smoked options are definitely worth picking up.
They also have a learn to shuck class coming up on Thursday (6:30–7:30 pm). Tickets are $50 a person, for which you get 12 oysters (4 West Coast, 8 East Coast), one oyster knife, a protective towel, a shucking board, and an hour of small class instruction.
