Police ID Victim in Yesterday's Homicide as Balmore Mauricio Fuentes

Police released the identity of the man murdered yesterday afternoon in an alley behind the 1100 block of Oates Street NE. His name was Balmore Mauricio Fuentes. 34 year old Fuentes lived outside of Baltimore, but was working as a crew chief for a construction team rehabbing a house in Trinidad. Homicide: 1100 Block of Oates Street, Northeast

(Washington, DC) - Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department's Homicide Branch are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred in the 1100 block of Oates Street, Northeast, on Wednesday, August 23, 2017.

At approximately 1:45 pm, members of the Fifth District responded to the listed location for the report of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located an adult male, in the alley, suffering from a gunshot wound. DC Fire and EMS arrived on the scene and transported the victim to an area hospital for treatment. The victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.

The decedent has been identified as 34-year-old Balmore Mauricio Fuentes, of Dundalk, MD.

The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia. Anyone with information about this case is asked to call the police at 202-727-9099.
