The H Street Festival has a way of bringing new places out of the woodwork. The H Street Festival saw both Dio Wine Bar (904 H Street NE) and Quara Ethiopian Restaurant (818 H Street NE) open to the public. Eater DC has a good write-up and photos of the former. Below you'll find more information about the latter.
I joined a friend for lunch at Quara during the H Street Festival and shared the key wot ($13.99). Key wot is a spiced beef stew, and the white bit is an Ethiopian cheese called ayib. The printed menu is slightly different in selection and price from the menu on their website.
There's plenty of bar seating and three tvs, so it could be a good place to catch the game.
It's a cute place, and they seemed well-equipped to handle the festival crowd that day.
This is Quara's second location. Their other restaurant is located in Adams Morgan.
