It's the Spookiest Time of the Year

Halloween is almost here and there is not shortage of fun local events to help you get into the spirit. Hat tip to Ward 6 Councilmember who sent around an email about Halloween in Ward 6 that mentioned the last three events.

Thriller on H Street Workshop & After Party From Joy of Motion
Kick your Halloween celebration into high gear by throwing on a costume and heading down to Joy of Motion at the Atlas Performing Arts Center (1333 H Street NE) this Friday for a Thriller inspired dance workshop. Christie Horan (Joy of Motion hip hop faculty and Washington Wizards dancer) will help you get the moves you need. Celebrate and show off your moves afterwards with with a party. All skill levels are welcome.



Thriller Workshop: 7–9pm
All-Ages After Party: 9pm–midnight
It's $40 online through October 26, or $45 at the door
You can also attend only the after-party if you can't make the workshop. Admission to the the after party is included for those who took the workshop, or $5 for those who did not.

Haunted Harvest at Capitol Hill Montessori at Logan
Haunted Harvest takes place this Saturday 6–9pm at 215 H Street NE. Purchase advance tickets for $20 per family (by October 27th) or pay $25 per family at the door. Hot Dog or BBQ Dinner with sides and a drink for purchase. Chili Cook-Off Tickets are $10/adult $5/kid. This event is fully open to the public and costumes are encouraged. Come explore a haunted house, play goulish games, take part in a zombie dance party, paint pumpkins, hang out for a spooky sing-along, and keep your wits about you during the mad science experiments. Halloween at Rosedale Rec
Rosedale Rec (1701 Gales Street NE) is holding a family friendly Halloween extravaganza. All ages are welcome to enjoy a fun filled celebration with activities, moon bounces, and plenty of food and snacks. 12–3pm Saturday. RSVP for details.

Tiny Tots Halloween Potluck at Sherwood
Sherwood Rec (640 10th Street NE) invites you to bring your favorite dish to share and your tiny goblin, super hero, lion, o(r whatever he or she may be) to a potluck Halloween morning at 10:30am. RSVP online.
