Halloween Takes Over NoMa: Pumpkinpalooza, Scary Movies, & a Queen of the Damned Party

NoMa appears to be trying to corner the market on Halloween fun. Pumpkinpalooza is tomorrow (Wednesday, October 25th) from 4–7 pm at 1150 First Street NE. The free event features a limited supply of free pumpkins for carving, as well as face painting, live music from King Street Bluegrass, a petting zoo, free snacks, and beer, wine, cider, and more substantial fare for purchase. Dogs are invited, but must be leashed and well-behaved. This event is organized by NoMa BID.

Later this week Wunder Garten (1101 First Street NE) gets into the act with their Zombie Apocalypse Party and three consecutive nights of scary flicks (plus candy on Halloween).

The Femme Fatale DC pop up at 100 Florida Ave NE will hold a Queen of the Damned 1 year anniversary party and "vampiress celebration" 6–10 pm on Halloween. Tickets are $15 in advance, or $20 at the door. Proceeds will go to Tagg Magazine's queer women of color scholarship fund. The pop up, which runs through December 24th, has a lot to offer even if you can't make this event. DCist recently ran a nice write-up on it. The Halloween party is 21+.
