There was a shooting about 1 am this morning near the intersection of Corcoran Street and West Virginia Avenue NE, on the western edge of Trinidad where it borders Gallaudet. The police alert below gives an ominous description of the suspect. A later email from an MPD representative to a local email group classifies this as an assault with a dangerous weapon and says the "victim received injuries to the back, conscious, breathing and was transported to a local hospital." It also shifts the age range of the suspect to the 25–35 years.
