The Hill is Home brings news that friends of Malik Habib, the 19 year-old tragically killed Saturday night when his bike wheel caught in a streetcar rail on H Street and sent him into the path of an oncoming charter bus, have set up a GoFundMe to help defer funeral costs to Habib's family. There's also a GoFundMe set up to raise money for a college fund for the sons of foreign affairs reporter and Trinidad resident Oren Dorell who was killed by a hit and run driver (who was later arrested and charged with Second Degree Murder, Driving under the Influence, and Leaving after Colliding) on June 8th. You can also give money to the Oren Dorell Memorial Fund at Reporters Without Boarders to help continue Dorell's legacy.
