A memorial ride for Malik Habib is scheduled for tonight. Riders should meet at First & K Street NE. The ride starts at 5:30pm and will last about an hour. The organizers are encouraging riders to wear white (if practical) to call to mind the ghost bikes that often are left in memory of fallen cyclists. 19 year old Malik died on June 23rd when his bike tire became caught in streetcar tracks and he was thrown into the path of a charter bus. The organizers suggest that if you want to participate, but don't have a bike you can use Bikeshare or a dockless scooter to ride with them.
