Morning Briefing: Apply for the Atlas INTERSECTIONS Festival & Take a Wine Class at Dio

Application Deadline Extended for the Atlas INTERSECTIONS Festival

The Atlas INTERSECTIONS Festival is currently accepting applications from interested artists and groups. They've extended the submission deadline to September 17th at 5pm. There's a $35 application fee, and you can apply in three different categories:
  • General (main festival for a general audience)
  • Family Fun Days (performances for audiences aged 1–12 years)
  • Youth Summit (performances by youth groups)

About the festival: The Atlas INTERSECTIONS Festival is a performing arts festival that presents work that impacts our society, culture, and world by informing, inspiring, educating, and entertaining. INTERSECTIONS is about presenting excellent art that inspires a connected community, engaged artists and audiences alike, and creates a vibrant neighborhood, city, and world. We are interested in  unique perspectives and art that connects us to the many facets of our humanity.

The 2019 INTERSECTIONS Festival will take place at the Atlas Performing Arts Center (1333 H St. NE) February 21st through March 3rd. Take a peek at last year's festival information to learn more about INTERSECTIONS.

Class is in Session at Dio Wine Bar

Dio Wine Bar (904 H St. NE) invites you to learn more about orange wines and rosé on Wednesday, September 19th (6:30–8pm). Spend an evening tasting five wines inspired by the color of sunset and discover some of the intricacies of what makes a wine orange, rosé, or something in between. Light snacks and bites will be provided. All night happy hour (8pm–close) will follow the class. Tickets are $35 (+$2.43 fee).
