The red marker shows last night's shooting, and the purple shows the location of shootings Friday & Monday

There was a double shooting last night in the 2300 block of Benning Road NE. The alert below went out at 8:03pm. I don't know the status of the victims (the Fox 5 report below says they were conscious and breathing after the shooting). This makes seven people shot (mostly non-fatally) in a very small area over the past several days.

Alert: Shooting in the 2300 Block of Benning Road NE. Lookout for b/m, short hair, white t shirt. Last seen fleeing in the 2300 Block of Benning Road NE

Per a Fox 5 report, two men were shot while seated in a vehicle outside Hip Hop Fish & Chicken a little after 7:30pm.  ANC Commissioner Kathy Henderson was leading a public safety walk not far away at the time of Monday night's shooting. There's also an open letter from Sydelle Moore, President of the Langston Civic Association, about the recent violence in our area.

This comes after four people were injured in a shooting about 11pm Friday night just down the street in the 1800 block of Benning Road NE, and another man was fatally shot in the same block (1800 block of Benning Road) on Monday. WJLA does a better job of laying out the sequence of events.

MPD has released video of suspects in Friday's assault that resulted in the injury of four people.

These events appear to be near the block of vacant buildings on Benning Road where increased loitering has occurred. Does anyone know the plan for these buildings? Would having someone posted there to reduce the loitering possibly help? Or possibly occupants in those buildings?
