H Street Festival Postponed Until Oct. 13th Due to Hurricane

Version 3

Mayor Bowser has declared a state of emergency as Hurricane Florence approaches, and concerns about rain and high winds have also prompted organizers of the H Street Festival to postpone the event. The festival was to take place this Saturday, but will instead be held Saturday, October 13th.  You can read about some of the attractions at the upcoming festival in this previous post.

Wow. At least it's still happening. Man, I feel so old. I remember the first H Street festival! It was SO TINY compared to now. Back then, I remember thinking that all the "plans for H Street" might actually come to fruition. Indeed, they've materialized over and over again, and just keep on keepin' on. I rode past the two new living complexes being built on Bladensburg, just north of the Starburst intersection. It seems that the H Street developments are really affecting neighboring and adjacent areas. Except the areas east of the Starburst. Benning Rd. just doesn't seem to have come of age yet....
