A man was injured in a dog attack yesterday in the 1700 block of H Street NE. Police responding to a call a little before 11:30am arrived to find the dog inside the house actively mauling the man, and employed a taser to repel the canine. Officers actually ended up tasing the dog a second time after it resumed the attack. At this point the dog ran into a bedroom and they barricaded the dog in that room until additional help could arrive.  The victim was treated for "serious injuries to the torso and arm." The recently adopted dog belonged to another member of the man's household. That's from a message sent to a local email group by MPD Lieutenant Peter J. Frenzel. WJLA reported that neighbors said the dog had also jumped a fence and attacked a neighbor's dog. Per that article the Washington Humane Alliance later euthanized the dog after it was surrendered by its owner.

Chupacabra (822 H St. NW) has closed its patio serving area for the season, but you can still hire the crew for catering over the winter.
