In other local crime news, MPD announced that a warrant has been issued for the arrest of 20-year-old Malik Morris in connection with Monday's double shooting in the 1800 block of Benning Road NE. That shooting took the life of 20-year-old Randall Francis and injured another man. If you have information about this shooting or the whereabouts of Morris you should contact MPD at the numbers listed above.

The Washington Post ran a story about Francis, who was a recent high school graduate considering colleges ("Young man killed on Benning Road had ‘promising life full of aspirations’"). WUSA9 has an article that includes a full statement issued by ANC 5D05 Commissioner Kathy Henderson on Randall Francis.
