The Langston Civic Association is selling tickets ($5) to a holiday party and community dinner Saturday, Dec. 15 (4–6pm). It's a buffet dinner and you do not have to be a member of the association to attend. Come out and mingle with neighbors at the Patsy Hartsfield Center (2026 Maryland Ave. NE). Advance tickets are encouraged as space is limited.
Mark your calendar for a fundraiser at Solid State Books (600 H St. NE) on Tuesday, Dec. 11 (6:30–9:30pm). 10% of all sales (drinks, food, and books) will go to support Rosedale Library Friends and Friends of the Northeast Library.
You can pre-order a Christmas tree through Miner Elementary PTO to help support the organization that supports students and families at the school. Pre-orders end tomorrow, and you can pick up your tree this Friday 5–8pm or Saturday 9am–2pm at the school (601 15th St. NE). They have Balsam and Fraser fir trees, wreaths, garlands, and tree stands. You can also donate to help buy a tree for a Miner family.
