MPD Seeks Suspects in Non-Fatal Shooting of Woman Last Night on Owen Place NE

Screen Shot 2018-11-09 at 6.06.34 AM

A woman was shot in the leg around 11:30pm last night in the 1100 block of Owen Place NE in the Trinidad neighborhood. We have some details on this incident thanks to a message sent by an MPD representative to a local email group. The officers who located the victim were responding to a call for the sound of gunshots. According to the email "[p]reliminary information suggests that the female victim was shot from a vehicle that subsequently crashed and was left on the scene." Four men bailed out of the vehicle and were last seen heading north on foot through an alley in the 1100 block of Owen. A tweet from MPD at 11:47pm mentioned only three suspects, but I'm going with the information in the email (posted to the group at 3:23am). The four suspects were described as four black males dressed entirely in dark clothes, "with the exception of one who was wearing lighter-colored pants." The woman who was shot was "conscious and breathing" when she was transported to a nearby hospital. On social media neighbors reported hearing as many as 15–20 gunshots.
