Supreme Core & City Winery Celebrate Ivy City Rosé with Resolution Breakers Ball Jan. 26

Supreme Core (2400 T St. NE) has a new cider out, and it's one I would absolutely recommend picking up. I first spotted four packs of Ivy City Rosé at the Ivy City MOM's (1501 New York Ave. NE) a week or so ago. The Supreme Core team added a blend of cider-aged cabernet sauvignon and cabernet franc pomace from City Winery (1350 OKIE St. NE) grapes to a base of fermented local apples and let it steep for a month. The pomace is, of course, the leftover fruit product that remains after the winemaking process is complete. The resulting cider (8% ABV) is fruity without being overly sweet (it's pleasantly dry and slightly tart). It really does remind me of a rosé, and it's very refreshing. It's also just an interesting collaboration between local Ivy City area beverage producers. City Winery Washington DC Head Winemaker Adam Drici teamed up with Supreme Core Cider Founders Kyle Crosby and Will Sullivan to come up with Ivy City Rosé.

“We worked hard with Supreme Core to make Ivy City Rosé a perfect marriage of the high-quality grapes we work with, and the awesome cider they are known for,” said Drici. “The community of beverage producers in Ivy City keeps getting stronger and everyone is so supportive of each other’s work. We put our heads together and came up with something totally original. We hope people will love drinking Ivy City Rosé as much as we loved making it.”

To launch the inaugural collaboration, the two brands will host Ivy City’s “Resolution Breakers Ball” on Saturday, January 26 – a ticketed tour of each facility followed by two indulgent winter staples – cider and mac ‘n cheese. The $25 ticket is valid from 2–6pm and includes shuttle transportation between the venues, as well as:
  • 3 cider tastings
  • 1 cider cocktail
  • 3 wine tastings
  • 2 bowls of mac ‘n cheese
  • Live music
  • Entry into a drawing to win Supreme Core Cider swag with a 4-pack of cans, and a pair of tickets to a show at City Winery.
You can choose (at the time of ticket purchase) to start off with a tour of either Supreme Core or City Winery.
