Coming Soon to the Market at Ivy City Smokehouse...

Untitled

I spotted something interesting during a recent visit to the Market at Ivy City Smokehouse (1356 Okie St. NE). The lobster tank is gone. In its place they had added a couple of high tables and some seating. It's not quite ready to open for service yet, but pretty soon you'll be able to enjoy a snack or even a meal (including breakfast 7–11am) right next to the counter where you select fresh fish to take home and prepare. Current plans call for breakfast 6–11am, followed by an all day menu 11am–7pm.

You can see the posted preview menu in the picture above, but it looks like breakfast options will include egg sandwiches, lox, and hashbrowns. Mussels, lox, trout dip, a fish salad sandwich, steamed shrimp, and ceviche are part of the all day menu.

I believe I also heard a little something about oysters on the half shell. If you buy your fish here, you already know that that it's super fresh (their nearby ProFish operation provides seafood to many local restaurants). In addition to the short food menu they will also serve beer and wine for on-site consumption. You can follow the market on Instagram @IvyCitySeafood.

I'm not sure.
