Oops!
That New Years post was supposed to be a draft (which is why it had no photos and looked half written). I guess the gremlins posted it early. In the mean time, if anyone has heard about New Years events on H other than those at R&R Hotel, the Red & the Black, NAPA, or POW please let me know (I know there is one at Dr. Granville's, but I don't know much about it).

They're gutting out a building a few doors east of palace of wonders (on the other side of the abandoned lot from it. anyone know what that's going to be?
Would that be 1220 (the red building just next to the vacant lot)?
it is adjacent to the empty lot. i do not know the exact address, but that sounds right.
Tip: Haven't seen anything about this, but there appears to be a bar/restaurant going in at the southwest corner of 6th and H in what used to be a security company. They were moving in the bar when I walked by on Saturday and I recognized they guy directing the workers as the former owner of a bar/restaurant (Passport) in Van Ness. I haven't seen anything posted about a liquor license application, but he said he hopes to be open by Saint Patrick's day. The place in Van Ness was kind of a saloon type of place (think crab cakes and burgers) with a vaguely nautical decor. It seems to be what he's striving for here too.
I hope chris in eckington is right. I'm getting tired of hiking down to the East End of H.
Great tip Chris! I'll have to look into that, it would be most welcome in that location.
