I was listening to old KunstlerCast podcasts today as I rode the X2 home* and I thought this would be a good one to share. You should really listen to them all because it's a pretty good podcast.
Here are a few other urban planning type podcasts to help you cope with that commute:

*It took me almost two hours to get home from Metro Center today, and I am not amused.

same boat, man! i wish i would have just WALKED home from chinatown.
Same problem with the X2, from Metro Center. Ridiculous. It IS faster to walk, but is the bridge by the H St unit block passable yet? Last week, I just walked in the street, but there were also no cars at the time.
I used to read JHK's blog pretty religiously but at this point it's repetitive ... he is a quite entertaing writer though.
I've been taking the Metro to Eastern Market and walking from there so that I don't have to deal with the X2. It only takes about 20-25 minutes to get to H Street. Maybe I've been lucky, but the X2 has been pretty good this week on the way in to work. I've been able to catch a bus within a few minutes and even get a seat a couple times.
Took the X2 about 15 minutes just to make it over the hopscotch bridge last night. I got off at 4th st and walked the rest of the way home. Looked like whatever was causing the backup was all the way down Benning road past 16th st.
oh that X2...any traffic hiccup gives the X2 the traffic avian flu.
they really should split that route in two. one route from downtown to hechinger mall (or even down to oklahoma) and one down the rest of the way to minnesota ave station. the route is clearly overburdened. the stats show it is the most traveled line (i.e. most passengers), the route goes darn near across the city (east to west). either there needs to be a parallel line (like how there's a 90 and a 92) that runs a similar route to take off the pressure (and the sometime-y X1 doesn't count) or they need to break the route in half IMHO
I have been taking metro to Union Station, then picking up either a D8,D3 or X1 to get home..QUICKER...
On the topic of buses on H St...

Live about a mile east of Union Station, so I metro from metro Center to Union Station and walked (15-20 mins). I walk because it's just far enough to be annoying, but it's too close to wait around for a D8. Since Christmas, Next Bus for the X2 had been flawless coming home. Now, the whole route is miserable.
Off topic, Liberty Tree has a website with a menu.
www.libertytreedc.com
Hmmm. I didn't realize that Liberty Tree was going to serve Latin cuisine...
Where did you see Latin cuisine on the menu? Looked like New England style stuff (and sounds amazing).
For all you X2 riders going to metro center, the D4 now goes to franklin square, 13th and k street. Not very crowded and a quick trip downtown.
The snow got me walking from L'Enfant Plaza to 14th up Maryland. Not that bad of a walk, and only takes a couple minutes longer than the bus. Gonna save the X1 for crappy days.
I just gave up and went back to biking. More dangerous, but less frustrating.
4:23,
He's kidding. The placeholder text on the front page (menu portion) is in Latin.
