Five Guys is a burger joint (and they seem to have lost two of the guys in their description). Not sure that they have pizza.

Beyond that, anybody notice how the outline of the NoMa area looks like a stylized version of someone's head.

Sortof looks like a computerized version of George Washington's head.

I suggest we rename the entire area George. Much more interesting than NoMa, which sounds so late 90s.

i love how people still bitch about the name "NoMa".

it is like people who still can't get over the fact that so few people write actual letters anymore.

the problem i have with a discussion of a discrete area of the city is that it puts too much weight on the NOMA boundaries. Yes, there are few residents within the boundaries, but its not like there's a wall. I dont know how you can talk about NOMA without discussing the neighborhood to the east, the Apt Building along North Capital and even the Washington center's intern housing.

but then where do you stop? before you know it you're talking about all of dc, then the metro area.

and then you have a whole different blog post.

Regarding NoMa..... the reason some people bitch is that it's derivative, has been done by every city from NY to probably Boise, and it's boring. It's meant to attach some sort of urban chic artificially.

Which would be fine, if it weren't so ridiculously overdone for the past decade.
