MPD announced today that they arrested 19 year old Zacchaeus Blanding of NE with the June 23rd killing of 19 year old Heineken McNeil. They two were known associates. Blanding has been charged with Murder Two While Armed. Mr. McNeil died of gunshot wounds, and his body was later placed in a trashcan in an alley behind a vacant house in the 1200 block of Holbrook Terrace and set on fire.

any word on the motive?
That's two cases with arrests, but they have three others including the 1300 Orrem (Larry Lockhart),
1600 E St NE (Victim UNnamed) and one other i can't recall. I hope MPD closes those cases soon

The report I saw from Fox said the same thing that MPD said, which was that the two were known associates, even friends, and that this was NOT a conflict over turf. Read it here.
This is just so sad. Breaks my heart.

Tragic. So sad about this. Who knows what kind of talent the world will miss out on. 19 years on this earth is too short.
This story is so heartbreaking and confusing...to shoot someone you call a friend multiple times, burn them to cover it up and then you say its an accident...what does FRIEND mean to some ppl? We all have flaws and we all make mistakes but NOONE deserves this...this was someones son, brother,nephew and alot of us knows how it feels to lose someone you love so why put someone else thru it. Senseless....RIP to this young man and my condolences to his family as well the accused!
I knew the victim and he certainly didn't deserve to die like that... RIP Ken Ken....

I knew him very he did deserved to die like this and I'm not white he was a human Being and someone child. People are disrespected every day it doesn't justify this. R.I.P KenKen
