Local Briefing: Meet the Principal at Wheatley, Arboretum Wreath Making, Thanksgiving at Langston Grille

A neighbor is putting together a school tour/meet the principal event for parents interested in learning more about Wheatley Education Campus. This event will take place at the school (1299 Neal St.) on Dec. 6 at 6 p.m. To take part please RSVP to tdh17603[at]yahoo.com.



The National Arboretum is hosting a holiday wreath decorating workshop Dec. 3 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Design and construct a wreath that can outlast the holiday season using sphagnum moss and fresh evergreen branches, including many varieties not commonly available. Experts will help workshop participants explore some of the plants you could add to your own landscape for future holiday decorations. All supplies will be provided, and attendees of all experience levels are welcome. Minimum age of 16 years. The fee is $75 for FONA (Friends of the National Arboretum) members, and $90 for non-members. Each person in the workshop must be registered. This event will take place at the National Arboretum (3501 New York Ave.).


Langston Bar & Grille (LINK PLAYS MUSIC, 1831 Benning Road) will serve free Thanksgiving Dinner from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. to celebrate the community, and the restaurant's customers, friends and family. Reservations are required, and Facebook reservations are accepted.
