Pidzza, a new place serving "gourmet pizza with a Turkish flair," opened its doors earlier this week at 2000 Hecht Ave. in Ivy City. The name Pidzza comes from combining the names of two delicious, and not entirely dissimilar foods. Pide + pizza = pidzza. This is Pidzza's first location, but according to their website they have two more planned. One of those is on H Street, but the exact address is not listed (it does specify NE).
They have six signature pidzzas on the menu, including the Cauli, which comes adorned with "[c]hicken, roasted curried cauliflower, cherry tomatoes, caramelized onion, shredded mozzarella cheese, chopped fresh chives and roasted garlic cream cheese." You can also create you own pie from their more than ample variety of toppings like roasted brussels sprouts, pineapple, curried cauliflower, a Turkish beef sausage called sucuk, and vegan beef crumbles (if that's more your thing). The menu is quite vegetarian and vegan friendly, and there's even a gluten free dough. The salads sound pretty solid too with dressing options like pomegranate-sumac lemon juice and cucumber tahini yogurt.
Treat yourself to a dessert pidzza ("chocolate pidzza crust, Nutella spread, white chocolate shavings, almonds and seasonal fruits") if you have a bit of a sweet tooth. They are open 11 a.m. to 12 a.m. daily

cool, but h street has enough pizza places. also, 2 Boots hasn't even opened yet. whole foods will probably serve pizza as well. have we reached pizza saturation?
Also, anyone know of a whole foods opening date? last i heard it was by spring '17. any updates?

Wonder what is up with Two Boots? There hasn't been any progress at all on the space as far as I can tell
Interesting place, had some staffing issues when we went by on Sunday (other guy was hanging out at the blow dry and drink place, a concept that completely eludes me) but good food. Once they get the speed up to match &pizza they'll probably do better, but need more things around them too.
To Anonoymous - how do you know the opening date is March? (I'm super interested in when it's open, so I don't want false hope :) )
